BRAIN INJURY: SUBTLE SYMPTOMS CAN INDICATE SERIOUS INJURY

Our skulls are designed to protect the sensitive brain tissue inside, but they can only do so much. Serious head injuries, referred to as traumatic brain injuries, are one of the most severe types of injuries and can result in brain damage and lifelong complications for the victim.
A traumatic brain injury can be caused by many different situations, and while car accidents are certainly one cause, many of these injuries occur in less dramatic circumstances, like falls or even swimming accidents. A brain injury can even be the result of an error during surgery, particularly if the surgery involved work on the spine.

Traumatic brain injuries often do not present as dramatically as they sound, and symptoms can range from obvious physical trauma and amnesia all the way to changes in personality or vision. After any type of accident, the victim is going through a lot of stress, and that can mask some of the subtler symptoms including increased anger, difficulty concentrating and increased sleepiness. It's important to always discuss any changes to a person's behavior or personality after an accident with the doctor, even if there appears to be only minor physical trauma.

Just like a doctor helps guide you through the post-accident healing process, an attorney can help you navigate the sometimes complex and overwhelming Arizona court system. If you suffered a brain injury because of another party's negligence, it may be possible to file a personal injury suit and be awarded compensation. While money cannot turn back time and let you avoid the circumstances that caused the injury, it can help you move forward with less stress so you can concentrate on your physical and emotional recovery.
