PHOENIX ACCIDENT LEAVES MOTORCYCLIST IN CRITICAL CONDITION

Motorcycles can be a great way to get around and are the preferred method of transportation for many in Arizona. However, because of their small size and little protection for riders, motorcycles are also involved in a significant portion of serious motor vehicle crashes.
The streets of Phoenix saw yet another of these accidents on Jan. 6, when a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle collided at a stop sign. According to a statement from the Phoenix Police Department, the motorcycle had been moving north on 56th street and was passing an intersection when the 27-year-old driver of a four-door car did not stop at the stop sign at Aire Libre Avenue.

The two vehicles collided, and the 24-year-old man who had been riding the motorcycle was seriously injured and was in critical condition at the time of the reports. Authorities reported that the rider had been wearing a helmet and that it did not appear that either driver was impaired. 56th Street was closed for some time after the accident as investigators were on scene, trying to determine what caused the crash.

The unfortunate reality is that it is the rider that is most often seriously injured or killed in a accident involving a car and a motorcycle, even though it may have been a distracted or impaired driver who caused the accident. If you or a loved one was injured or killed in a motorcycle accident determined to be the fault of another party, a personal injury lawsuit may be an option. At The Brewer Law Firm, we handle these types of cases on a regular basis and can help you understand the next steps.
